It’s a nice location and a nice looking hotel, however, badly managed. In the room we had blocked sink and I mold in a bathroom.. no toilet paper after one use not tissues.. at breakfast you had to wait for food even though it was self serving and the hour was early.. staff was absolutely lovely and went beyond to make us happy, my husband had an allergy and chef catered to his needs really well he didn’t want to take any risks and prepared his breakfast separate to ensure his safety.
The utensils had some food left on them (u can tell they were washed in a dishwasher but not wiped after) as some food still between forks.. shocking, we chose Marriott due to its reputation but if you are choosing this location because of hiking routes just take a good b&b for half price!
We went to Marriott in London and never had any issues but we won’t be choosing Marriott again..

The outstanding feature of this hotel is the helpfulness of the staff. Although there is no traditional reception, I met far more staff than usual at a hotel. Steph and Layla helped me settle in and the cleaning ladies stocked up the rapidly depleted biscuits. I also had a chat with the manageress. So the staff were really welcoming, and reflected the friendly behaviour of Preston people. This hotel is perfect if you need to be in Preston centre near the railway.
The hotel was very good and very welcoming. Breakfast was continental buffet and yummy. I was able to order takeout delivery from a local place in the evening without any issues.
I would stay again. Bed was comfy and the room was a very good size. Especially liked the balcony with the table and chairs on.

Shocking standard - cold room chinese water torture from the toilet (constantly dripping) poor water pressure in shower - mix n match towels and bedding - needs a total upgrade and redec.
Very cold - no hot breakfast (I don’t consider porridge a hot Brekkie )
Absolutely dire - the worst place I have ever stayed would’ve been better sleeping in the car
