Known for its sandy beaches and good nightlife, Bournemouth is a popular seaside resort on the Dorset coast between Poole and Christchurch.
The town is centred on the Bourne River, running downhill towards the sea by Bournemouth Pier. This pier looks back towards a promenade lined with beach huts at the foot of grassy cliffs. The promenade continues west to Poole, while a road goes east to neighbouring Boscombe, where anglers often fish from its pier. Overlooking it is a clifftop road housing some Bournemouth hotels with sea views.
Booking.com also offers hotels near the BIC – Bournemouth International Centre in the West Cliff area. This convention centre and music venue is a short walk from the Art Deco Pavilion Theatre, located next to the Lower Gardens. In this popular city park is the Bournemouth Eye, a tethered hot air balloon that offers far-reaching views.
At the park’s top end the river disappears under a large square, then emerges in the Central Gardens. Overlooking these gardens is the Victorian town hall, which used to be one of several spa hotels in Bournemouth. Opposite is a Grade I-listed church, and St Peter’s Church has the grave of Mary Shelley, author of ‘Frankenstein’.
On the outskirts of town, near 4 golf courses and the Castlepoint Shopping Centre, is Bournemouth Airport.

We only stayed one full day, and I will say there is a lot to see and do so a couple days is reccomended. The beach was nice, with some great restaurants and options for bars in town. It is an old town, and there are some areas that could use restoration, but it has a certain charm. Everywhere we went the people were freindly.

Fav place: Hotel Celebrity and Citygate Bournemouth which is HIGHLY suggest
Food: Franco Manca, Asda Deli Counter, Spoons, 7 Bone Burger, McDonalds, Caffe Neros
Places to avoid: Bus stop outside Asda and Citygate, there was a punch-up
Location is the best location near beach and Bournemouth centre or garden. My room was on top floor family room which was nice but the lift was out of order I have to take my luggage up to the top floor, The staff was too busy to help me. The room was a bit small in size despite of three people. The price is a bit overprice it is more than the 4-star hotel price.
The hotel was overall very clean and refurnished with british lovely decoration.
The staff was kind enough.
if the price is lower I will come again.
Thank you
I stay at the Lynden Court Hotel every year, this being my sixth time. The location is great, only a short walk from both the town and the beaches, there's plenty of places to go and explore, in and around Bournemouth with Poole, Dorchester, Weymouth and Christchurch on the door step. There's lovley walks along the prom from Sandbanks right along to Hengistbury.
The rooms are of a good size plenty big enough for two. Tea and coffee is provided. There's a continental breakfast, which is help yourself.
It was our second time visiting Bournemouth and staying at The Pavillion Arms. We've stayed in the suite room as a family of 5 (2 adults, 2 kids and a dog) and it's by far the best hotel for a large family to stay in the area. The room was very comfortable, with very friendly staff and a great restaurant. Also, great location within a walking distance of the town centre and beach, but in a quieter and much nicer location. We will come back again soon!
Everything was nice n clean. Bus stop just outside the building. Co op down the flat. Great location. Close from the town, station n beach too.. There is no staff as its not a Hotel. It's just a family run business. Apartment is nice n spacious. There's only 1 double size bed in the bedroom. And the other is sofa cum bed..thats a king size.. in the living room. The apartment has washing machine n a drier too.. thats a plus point I could say.
I had a very pleasant stay by the sea. The apartment was spotlessly cleaned and well equipped. My first experience booking a whole apartmnet rather than a hotel. It was compact but absolutly spot on for my needs. Free parking space was an unexpected bonus for the town centre location.
Thank you again for your help and letting me book in the last minute. I will most likely be back with my family in the summer to enjoy Bournemouth Beach.
Great stay. Comfortable, clean and quiet room. Nice and warm despite the cold weather outside. The manager was very friendly and welcoming. He showed me the room (always nice when staff take time to do this). Breakfast was very good. Freshly cooked and tasty. Hotel is not far to the sea and convenient for the town. One of the best hotel experiences I've had in the Bournemouth area. I will definitely be staying here again.
This hotel is perfectly situated for an easy walk to music events at O2 Academy Bournemouth. The staff were very welcoming and efficient, the hotel was quiet even though many guests were staying there. The breakfast buffet manager was friendly and the food offering was very good with everything well laid out and to a very good standard. Good hot shower and beds were average but fine for a night. Free parking was great.
The room was clean & tidy & well lit with natural light, it had opening windows to allow natural airflow. The accommodation was in a great location close to the main square & the beach.
The owner was very friendly, carried my luggage up the stairs & was very helpful with suggestions on what to do in the area. I would highly recommend the "Newark" when staying in "Bournemouth".
Very impressed with this Hotel. Staff on front of desk was polite and friendly, gave us some good information regarding Bournemouth University as we were down for the open day. The Hotel is very well maintained, clean and tidy. Breakfast is varied and tasty. Room was very clean and had all you wanted. 5 mins wall to the University and 10 mins walk down to the beach
Everything was amazing and comfortable, the lovely gentleman at the reception was extremely accommodating and kind, and even helped us chill our wine and brought us wine glasses to our room.
The breakfast next door was one of the best I've had at a hotel in the UK, and the staff was also amazing. All in all 10 out of 10, we will come back for a longer stay!
The position of this hotel is ideal for Bournemouth Town centre and the beaches. The staff are polite and helpful. The food is good. The rooms are very warm but fans are provided. Everywhere was very clean. The toiletries in the bathroom were nice. There were lots of tea and coffee sachets with nice biscuits and bottles of water.
The location is good for Bournemouth. Easily walkable to the city center, could be closer to the beach. I came during an August heatwave, so most things were booked and the town was crowded as expected. The town was lively and the hotel was standard and as promised.
The staff were great, so easy to communicate with reception on WhatsApp as well as face to face. Staff in the restaurant for breakfast were also excellent.
Great hotel with good parking. We walked into Bournemouth and left the car parked for our whole stay.
It has its own parking space. Ground floor. Easy to relax there compared to a hotel. Good kitchen. Nice bathroom. Good instructions from the host. Close to the beach, a small supermarket, a pub and some restaurants.
The hotel was in easy walking distance of Bournemouth beach, pier and town center. It was also a good price (£105) for a night for two people in August. Also liked it was pet friendly and had it's own car park.
Bournemouth is a terrific location, and the Royal Bath Hotel- the first hotel built to accommodate visitors to the area in 1838- is in a near perfect location, close to the Pier and overlooking the East Cliff
The hotel location was great for the beach or to walk into Bournemouth centre.
The bedroom was spacious and light and in manor with the style of the building.
Tea and coffee facility in room was good.
The location is great - 10 minute stroll down to the beach and ideal that we could park at the hotel. The staff were really friendly. Our family room had everything we needed.
