I’ve been in Queenstown 3 times. I can’t say enough about the beauty in its natural surroundings. It’s so beautiful in summer and autumn. Pick a nice apartment and stay for a week. You can take a walk along the lake, or rent a bike, or paddle in the lake. There are just too many ways to celebrate the beauty.
Avoid the tourist attractions and go to the off beaten tracks. Pack a picnic and sit under the sun for the fresh air. Queenstown is everything you want.

Queenstown is a mountain town on a lake with a beautiful waterfront. You can walk or bike around the lake. Lots of tourist shops, restaurants, and activities in and around the main centre. It is very easy to walk around Queenstown, more of a pain to drive as there is a lot packed into a small space.
I wish they had a train from Christchurch and you could leave the car behind as there is enough to do by foot, boat or even tour bus for days.

The hotel was good, limited parking and a little on high on cost.
Queenstown is nice little city, if you have time you can travel to Milford sound, but as we were there for two days, the Information Centre was only interested in selling the tours they do and we found out that there was more todo within the city, like Paragliding, Cable car and nice restaurants and cafes, English Gardens, Ferry across the lake etc.

Queenstown is as fantastic holiday destination for every age group. The location is stunning, the range of activities available unbelievable, restaurants and cafes are in good supply and the staff are happy and helpful. Autumn is a ringer time of the year to be in this beautiful city… full of colour… not too cold.. just perfect. It is easy to walk around, signage is good and the only downside can be parking so if you can walk all the better.

Excellent place which has almost everything a tourist needs:

- friendly people
- central location (as a base to tour the South Island)
The staff at reception were very friendly and accommodating + the cleaners were also very friendly when we occasionally ran into them heading in-and-out on our day-to-day activities. Overall we found the rooms to be fairly spacious compared to similar hotels at similar prices. Only a short walk to the center of Queenstown. They had purchasable kits from reception for convenience (toothbrush & toothpaste or Shaving kits) and a nice catalog of things to do in Queenstown stationed on a table inside the apartment.
The one bedroom apartment is one of the best accommodations we’ve used in Queenstown in many, many visits.
It costs more than their standard hotel rooms but it’s well worth it for an extended visit.
The apartment is huge, has full kitchen, laundry, two balconies, 2 toilets and aircon which is a must for hot summer days.
Walking distance to everything and close to local buses for trips around the wider local area.
If available, we would choose this apartment for our next visit.
Central location right near DOC office and pick up for Routeburn. Very clean and comfortable. Love the pods with their private roller blind. Slept well. On the strength of this stay I’ve also booked into Lylo Auckland. Laundry facilities onsite. Kitchen was cramped but serviceable. Queenstown is super expensive would recommend the Bakery nearby on Shotover St for cheap sandwiches and pastries. 2 supermarkets a short 10 minutes walk away for tramping refuel.
We really enjoyed our stay at Koura Apartments in Queenstown. The apartment is very thoughtfully designed with a minimalist but functional design that does not sacrifice comfort, very similar to what I've seen in Scandinavian countries. Our host, Kal, was very accommodating, and checking in and out was very easy. The location is fantastic, about a 5 min walk to central Queenstown. I highly recommend these apartments.
Fantastic stay at Melbourne Lodge from the warm welcome offered by Vineet (Manager) to the quality of the room amenities. Vineet provided us with excellent customer service throughout our stay, the room was very well-equipped and comfortable. Overall spotlessly kept by an attentive and friendly housekeeping staff.
Ideal location so close to Queenstown central, I can highly recommend this hospitable establishment.
Not the most obvious place to stay in Queenstown, but there's a bus stop outside the hotel for buses into town where parking is a nightmare, a major shopping centre next door and a second one minutes away, the tour companies collect from the hotel and the flight tours are a few minutes walk from the hotel. The room was clean, well equipped and comfortable with a great view down the Remarkables.
Overall we had a great time in this hotel. All the staffs are so friendly and helpful. The restaurant view and food is good. I want to comment the housekepeing team who make up our beds all the time and especially on 22nd December. Car parking is also covenient.
Our first time in Queenstown and we had a great time and I highly recommend this hotel.
Boutique hotel - fantastic friendly staff, nice breakfasts and evening canapés very relaxing. Large, comfortable, and well decorated Junior Suite with view to Remarkables and over the rugby field where tandem parachutes landed.
Short walk to the Snowcentre, Restaurants, and shops in Queenstown. Fabulous stay for our 11 nights.
The King Room with Lake View was very spacious and comfortable. The balcony had an nice view of the Queenstown lake. The hotel staff was nice and friendly throughout our stay. On-site parking was very convenient and there was also a bus stop nearby for buses to the Town Centre and Airport. Overall, we had a comfortable stay.
The staff at Copthorne Hotel & Apartments Queenstown Lakeview in Queenstown were very responsive and accommodating to any of my concerns. The issues I had expressed were attended to swiftly. I was able to utilize the in-house laundry and kitchen facilities which were very convenient over the duration of our stay.
Location is great if you’ve been to Queenstown before & don’t want to stay close to town centre.
Our room was quite small, but had everything you could need for a short stay.
Water taxi is great! Quick / easy to catch. Also best to check Uber prices (sometimes work out cheaper if not the same price return)
Only a short walk down the hill to the centre. The walk back up the hill is interesting! Great view out over the lake. Comfortable beds, clean room, friendly staff and decent sized gym facilities (I used the treadmill). Parking (free) was on side street or out front of the hotel.
This is a unique, boutique style hotel. Small, with a homely feel to it, and decorated to a high standard. The location is great, close to town, and easy to walk into Queenstown centre. Access to free NZ products (like soft drinks and chocolate) was a really nice touch.
Good sized room with good facilities in it. Although not in the centre of Queenstown it had plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants within walking distance if you didn't want to go right into the town centre. Loved the under floor heating in the bathroom!
Unit clean and well appointed. In a great area close to the centre of town. Views incredible and probably some of the best in Queenstown. Staff friendly and helpful. Parking onsite good. Facilities in the unit good and appliances first class.
The staff did their best given the circumstances, the hotel itself is relatively new, also 500m walking distance from town centre although there is a steepish hill to negotiate on way back after a few drinks or a day on the slopes.
The location of the hotel is awesome located in the city centre and by the lake as well. Limited parking spots but valet service offered. Staffs were nice and accomodating.
We liked the proximity of the hotel to Queenstown centre. There was also free parking available immediately outside the hotel. The room was very clean.
