The staff was really friendly. The breakfast was very tasty and the bungalow was incredibly nice. It felt safe there, because all people coming in would pass the staff. It's directly next to the beach (although when it's flood you have to go about 15 minutes to the next part of the beach to lie down as the water here is too high then). Also a beautiful garden. We had a great stay!

International breakfast was the norm wich was tasty and can make europeans feel at home but local breakfast could be arranged too if requested wich I loved so much and was SO filling. Dinner is priced reasonable, a little higher than surrounding places but portions are HUGE and quality and taste is 20/10. All dishes are very fresh and the chef is a sweet soul. The owners are very transparant and well organised. They have trustworthy connections to arrange all activities you can think of and are very happy to help any time. The place offers a sense of privacy wich I loved. I can imagine it also being a very good place to celebrate with a group of friends as they offer the facilities (swimmingpool, bar, line wall, high quality music installation, game are). I really felt looked after and will definitely visit them again. Cleanliness and hygiene is 20/10, the place always looks and feels polished. Rooms are well equiped, for hot nights, beautifully designed and mosquito protection can be bought from them (wich works well and is way cheaper compared to buying it at home if you travel from Europe). Excellent location and such sweet and caring staff. Couldnt have felt more safe here. Wifi is free and very high speed.

If you're looking to unwind, Oleza is the ideal destination. Situated in Michamvi on the serene Southeast coast of Zanzibar, it offers a tranquil atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle, perfect for relaxation.
Close to Pingwe and Paje, you'll find plenty to do while staying there. As for Oleza itself, having traveled extensively worldwide, I can confidently say that it boasts the most hospitable, accommodating, and delightful team I've encountered. Their proactive assistance exceeded my expectations, often extending help without even being prompted. They consistently go above and beyond to ensure guests have a memorable experience.
Mr. Humphrey, the charming manager, is ever eager to teacher a few Swahili phrases, while the Chef ensures your dining experience is delightful. Despite my wife's gluten intolerance, he made special efforts to prepare delicious gluten-free dishes.
At Oleza, their motto rings true: 'Arrive as a guest, depart as family.' And indeed, that's precisely how we experienced it.
Asante sana!

Sansi Kae is an amazing resort. We loved our time there. Right On the beach. Great Pools. Great Staff and overall a great stay. The massages were amazing. The night activities were a lot of fun and created a great vibe. The way the staff treat you is like royalty. We made friends with lots of the staff and had some good laughs and learnt a lot of the language from them. They always went our their way to make sure we had everything we wanted and more!
The external company that handled the booking of activities were great too. We swam with dolphins and went to feed sea turtles in a cave. AMAZING experience. We also did the tour of prison island and stone town which were also great experiences.
The resort is a bit of a drive from the airport but the taxis got us there no problem. On the East side of the island where its not as commercial so it wasnt too busy. We heard that the North side is madness. Especially when doing tours like the Dolphin swim. We had 4 boats around us vs what i heard some people say its mayhem with over 20 boats as an example.
For a chilled getaway to relax and spend time at the beach or pools was amazing. I would recommend Sansi Kae to all.
Featuring two sandy beaches, Ras Michamvi Beach resort also offers a swimming pool and a cliff-top restaurant with panoramic views of the Indian Ocean and coral reef.

by walking distance you could reach Kae Funk, which is lovely place, with party, and amazing sunset view. Is right place for whom are interested for The Rock, by taxi it takes aprox. 25 min, the same to Paje beach. Michamwi is calm and full of nature. Unfortunately the ocean is full of seeweeds and is not pleasant to swim here.

It has some really nice beaches in the area and wonderful blue ocean as far as the eye can see. It's also quiet and very tranquil. We enjoyed a nice long walk on the beach with little to no interruptions from beach boys of sellers.
What a lovely stay we had in Karanga Bungalows
We loved the place so much that we extended twice
It's far from the crowds and so relaxing, you can reach the beach after 5mins walk
The owner is so kind, helped us with everything, breakfast is simple but has all you need and is served directly onto your veranda. The room is so big and was lovely decorated with flowers. Has also a mosquito net.
The bed is the most comfortable one we had in Zanzibar. There are a lot of mosquitos, so bring repellant.
The staff were amazing! this is what we liked the most at Horizon Michamvi , very kind , cheerful, helpful , they made sure to provide whatever we needed with a smile on their faces always ! Rose Marie, Dismiss and Ru were very sweet with my children as well.
Lovely location to watch the not to be missed sunset in Michamvi and you can walk to Michamvi Mangrove Forest from the resort when it is low tide , and SUP when it is high tide which is an amazing experience !
Rooms and property clean .
- Cozy and relaxed atmosphere
- Delicious food at reasonable prices
- The homemade juices and milkshakes are to die for
- The staff makes sure that you are always happy and are always ready to meet your requests. Mr. Suleiman was especially helpful and went out of his way to make my stay pleasant
- Hammocks, swinging beds, and plenty of areas to chil out and relax
- The beach is only 3-4 min walk from the hotel, and during high tide it is simply stunning
- Simple but delicious breakfast
It was my third visit to Zanzibar, so I know what I'm talking about. This is a magical place to stay in Zanzibar, relax and meditate ... and eat meals that really made with care and love from best ingredients. Spacious, very beautifully decorated bedroom and living area, maintained gardens and pools, very calm, away from beach boys and other noises of the island. Our host Maite, chef and all other staff members made us feel like we are at home.
The room are airy, & spacious, when compared to nearby beach hotels. The bed was comfortable. Loved the ensuite bathroom. The space was very clean. Had no issues with mosquitoes. Host - Ugo is very welcoming and responsive to all of our requests. Location is ideal as it just a street over from the beach and bus stop is literally at the doorstep and will take to nearby towns for inexpensive price.
The location is really nice: although not on 1st row, really close to the beach.
The accommodations and equipments are excellent for a hotel in this budget bracket (even on Zanzibar): it was totally unexpected for me and my party, and much appreciated.
Special kudos for the wonderful breakfast 🙏🏻
And finally, the Staff, that was very kind and helpful at all times: thank you all!
It was a lovely place, located on quiet beach. With just 12 rooms, its perfect for a quiet getaway. The aesthetics are very nice, coming from an Italian owner. The food was superb, especially for Vegetarians, which can be a little difficult to find in Zanzibar, but to top it all, their craft beer was out of the world. Didn't expect such amazing craft beer.
nice & caring staff, amazing breakfasts and clean pool with sunbeds. Everyone in here is so helpful. There is an beautiful beach nearby. Ot is calmy place to stay with not many tourists around, there are just few restaurants, but also night life on the beach, so its good balanced. If we would ever come to Zanzibar again, we will definitelly come back.❤️
So many things that we loved about this accomodation. It’s a little paradise in a (for now, there is a major building activity nextdoor) quiet location at Kae beach. although at the eastside of the island, here you can see the sunset. The accomodation has a tropical atmospehere and last but not least, the staff was more then friendly and hospitable.
The room was nice and big. The staff was great and did everything to make us feel good. The room was cleaned every day. The breakfast was good, there was a choice of eggs cooked in different ways, french toast, cereals, fruits, very good mango juice and coffee. Hotel has a big pool and it's 2 min away from the beach.
The butler service (Justice and Andrew) was superb - they were able to get the mobile COVID testing team to the hotel in order to meet our flight arrangements, and were also able to secure us a great lunch reservation at The Rock down the beach.
The best place in Zanzibar! lovely and nice people, great atmosphere, very helpful. Beautiful place with a beautiful garden, fire in the evening.
Good Zanzibar breakfast,
Rooms very comfortable. We highly recommend a perfect place to relax!
The staff is extremely friendly and service minded. We had a problem with warm water in the room and we received another room. Also the after service is very well. We also recommened snorkling, boat from hotel. Everything was perfect.
- We booked the villa with bigger pool, which was great value for the price
- Restaurant was good
- Location is amazing - right on the beach, can see the sunset from beach, close to Rock restaurant and Paje
The rooms are big and spacious. However, you should check for insects before going to bed. The pool, the restaurant and the bar are very nice. There are plenty of sun beds to relax and enjoy the sunset.
The location and view is spectacular. Amazing place, highly recommended. Friendly staff and good food and drinks.
I would come back any time. If you have the chance to go to Zanzibar, don’t miss Mnana.
Very nice and friendly staff, delicious breakfast. Close to one of the most beautiful beaches in Zanzibar. Great bathroom, you can take shower and admire the stars at the same time.
